Those embedded in the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem would benefit from taking a look at the manufacturers latest offer this weekend. The Korean tech company has just reduced its most premium smart watch but a huge margin, making the Galaxy Watch Ultra more affordable than ever [via Express.co.uk].
Normally £599, you can now snap up Samsung's best smart watch for £499. Sporting a whole host of upgrades on the cheaper Galaxy Watch models, it's the one to go for if you spend a serious amount of time outside doing sports.
This new price also undercuts the Apple-equivalent model, the Apple Watch Ultra 2, by a whopping £300. It also brings the Galaxy Watch Ultra firmly in the region of the mid-range Garmin GPS devices, many of which share similar feature's to Samsung's version.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra boasts an impressive spec-sheet, including a rugged design that is made from titanium. Samsung says this is officially the "toughest Galaxy Watch ever" and it should mean it survives years strapped to your wrist.
That upgraded styling also offers better water resistance, along with coping with high altitudes and bigger changes in temperature. So, if you head up a mountain and things drop to -20 degrees the Ultra will keep on working.
Another addition to this device is the Quick Button, which takes you to favourite apps and other features via a simple tap. That means you can launch a workout or start a run without scrolling through endless menus on the big and bright display.
Other extras worth a mention include an in-built alarm should you get in trouble and find you need some help, a special night mode which turns the display black and red plus there is highly accurate GPS for pinpoint location accuracy.
This premium Galaxy Watch also gets some impressive battery stats with it capable of lasting for up to 100 hours before needing a refill.

On Samsung's own website, customers have given a generous 4.6 stars overall. One reviewer simply calls it an 'Exceptional smart watch', while another says 'I bought this watch about a month ago, and it does everything I need'.
However, some customers did mention that the health monitoring can be 'hit or miss'. Another review calls the default band 'cheap, nasty, and constantly getting black marks around the edges'.

Garmin offers great alternatives if you're looking for something a little more fitness focused, including the Forerunner 965. SportsShoes is selling it for £449.99.
Of course, there's also the Apple Watch Ultra 2 if you're in the Apple camp. Amazon has that reduced to £769 right now.
